AMD 2400 Temperature?

Very good and very reliable. room temperature: 28 C(approx. 82.4 F). even overclocked to 4.6Not largely impressed with the 9590, don't really think the 220w and heat is worth the speed difference. Clock multiplier ? http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/259840-28-very-high-temperature-athlon-2400

I wouldn't stress too bad. While in servers and workstations manufacturers bump the number of chips per computer, desktops are far more cost-sensitive and the majority of PCs are shipped with only one central processing unit Naturally with FX-8xxx or 9xxx series CPUs you need to have proper airflow through the PC case to remove the CPU and GPU processor heat created under heavy load.Numerous people with

Going off load, the temp should drop back quickly to the idle temp. You might want to think of doing something about it though. When I do I'll post it. And if you are worried about temp, try a Thermaltake heatsink and fan or if you dare and have room a Thermalright or Zalman. Any discrepancies between CPUID features and official specifications are likely due to some features being disabled in BIOS, or due to a bug in our CPUID decoding algorithm.

So don't worry. As its rating suggests the Athlon XP 2400 on average is on par with Pentium 4 2.4 GHZ (depends on application), and only 5% or less slower than Athlon XP 2600+. so far. Please turn JavaScript back on and reload this page.

At the time the core temp was fine but socket was way too high. It is not an "official AMD program/endorsement" as it states. Ask !

AMD engineers confirmed that 70C was being used and that it was not the max user operating temp and as such the thermal margin was incorrect.

And yeah, those Pentium M's are probably the best CPU's they make, they are nice. Didn't know the Pentiums ran hotter, always thought the AMD's did? rakayl Jan 15, 2016 8:33 AM (in response to noriyori_kudo) I am sorry......WHAT?! If this is so, then I will set my fan manually to keep the temperature around 70 (this will keep the fan fairly quiet). Your cpu will be happier for longer if it runs cooler.
