Am I Dumb? What Is FireWire?

I downloaded X USB driver setup V2.23 but don't know what to do with it. If you don't mind a little back and forth to get to the answer, most folks here can usually suss out the root issue and get you on your way. Better to know then to assume. I'm at work right now and usually do not get any recording time until after dinner.
